A Third Road Taken
Our lives vary in how they come to be,
Each on a different road, you can take one of three.
You take a moment, to let your mind ponder
Which route is right for you to wander.
One lane is clear, neatly paved,
Signs up on show to point the right way.
Would be hard to lose yourself upon this road,
Just follow the path; you’re all set to go.
The next lane requires even less on your part,
There lies on the road a getaway cart.
Drawn by horsepower, coachman at the lead,
He has the means to take you wherever you need.
The last line is a path that many would dread,
A squelching muddy trail you must carefully tread.
No straight path, no signs, no horse-back ride,
No easy route to the other side.
Thorns slash with every step you take,
Deep footprints left back in your wake.
So which out of the three to choose between?
First, think about what each path will mean.
Path one, you mainly follow, just one of many faces,
No prints on the clear path, you’ve left no traces.
Path two, you have power, perhaps unfairly gained,
Given, not taken. Passed on, not obtained.
Path three, you’re a fighter, earned your place on this earth,
Left your print on this world so it won’t doubt your worth.
No route is the wrong one, each one opens doors,
But which route shall you take? The choice shall be yours.
